Trust an enterprise app on iPhone

How to fix “Untrusted Enterprise Developer”, including the new “Allow & Restart” step on iOS 18 and later.

Updated 9 October 2026

The first time you open an app signed with an enterprise certificate, iOS shows “Untrusted Enterprise Developer”. You only need to trust that developer once.

  1. Open VPN & Device Management

Open Settings, tap General, then VPN & Device Management.

VPN and Device Management in General settings Tap to view full size
  2. Choose the developer

Under Enterprise App, tap the developer’s name. It matches the name in the error message.

  3. Trust and restart

    Tap Trust “…” and confirm.

On iOS 18 and later the button is Allow & Restart, and the iPhone restarts. After you unlock it, iOS asks once more: choose Allow and enter your passcode.

Can’t find “VPN & Device Management”?

It only appears once the device has at least one profile or enterprise app installed. Install the app first, then come back.

If your app is signed with a personal UDID certificate, you don’t need this step. You need to turn on Developer Mode instead.
